Exchange 2000 Sp3 with Rollup patch installed. Mail is working fine but MTA service is stopping and starting constantly. It starts, remains running for about 5 seconds then stops again. And so it goes on.

On our exchange server the smtp queue is stuck, nothing gets delivered to the information stores although external mail still comes in the queue. Also mail sent from internal outlook clients to other internal users stays in the user's outbox.

From MSE SMTP - All mails are reaching all other domain except insel.ch. "Replied" emails will not reach the orginal senders on insel.ch. Message will bounce back in 48 hours with a non-deliverable message. Test to bogus
