I need to know what IMAP4 virtual server is used for.  At
work we use only SMTP virutal server and all our users are
on Outlook 2000 or Outlook 2002.  For educational reason I
would like to learn about IMAP 4 virtual server.

Authentication, is it ok to ONLY have Integrated Windows
Authentication selected? Will this in any way prevent off-site users

Don't know what I did but it happened after installing the
latest patch.
Now all incoming and outgoing mail is stuck in the Default
SMTP Queue called "Messages awaiting directory lookup."

I have upgraded to exchange 2000. I was getting ready to
switch over to a native exchange domain.  I deleted the
SRS object under tools, Site Replication Services in the
system manager.  I noticed that right after I deleted it,

I have exchange server installed in win2000 server,It worked well.But today
we installed some security pack,Exchange server can send e-mail out,but
can't receive any e-mail from outside. I checked my DNS,it work well.I
tested TCP 25 and 110 with telnet,it works well.

I configured a nntp feed to msnews.microsoft.com as in the book on our
exchange 2003 server.
In the log I get an 502 access denied, although msnews doesn't need auth. As
you can see I can connect to msnews. It gets the list on the public

The SMTP virtual server on one of our client's Exchange
servers has suddenly gone wild and begun consuming all
available bandwidth. I've seen a few posts on this subject
but so far no resolution.

W2k server running e2k sp3 and sp4 on the w2k server.
I can hit the smtp service via telnet internally and not externaly. The router forwards all port 25 traffic to the exchange server. I can restart the service and it will work for a while. I have one network card which is only ...
