We are using Exchange 2000 Server. The Maximum size limit for Exchange Database is 16GB-18GB. We have some 550 e-mail users and all of them have been allocated 5MB only. The maximum size of a mail that any user can send or receive is 3MB.

We have an Exchange 2000 Ent server which mailbox store houses 130 employee. We set mailbox limit to 1.5GB. We've using Mailbox Item Delete Retention for years. (but not using Delete Retention for Public Folder), we currently now have:

If I suspect information store is somehow corrupt on an exchange 55 server what options I have to confirm this or to rectify it? Server works fine but after a few hours I get an Outlook message "Could not open one or more attachments" and I can still send emails fine but not ...

I need to restore an old exchange server but I don't have a working backup, I only have the edb files. The domain is in-tact, in fact I am trying to restore to a DC from the old domain (I have re-claimed all roles back to it).

I have a client who's Exchange store has reached it's 16GB limit, I've done the Reg hack to increase it's size to 17GB and got the users to clearout their mailboxes. I'm would like to run an Offline Defrag but have one stumbling block.They dont have enough space on their server ...

Does stopping the MSExchangeIS service serve the same purpose as dismounting the private information store in terms of running a defrag? I want to create a batch file to stop the IS using 'net stop MSExchangeIS' and run an offline defrag on priv1.edb, then 'net start'
