How do I defrag or reduce the size of a STM File. My database size has reached an upper limit of 16GB. My STM file size has reached more than 5GB. How can I reduce its size? Is there any utility like ESEUTIL to defrag STM

We have Exchange 2000 on Windows 2003. And we have both on the same, single server in our organization. Can I create multiple storage group on same server, so as to overcome 16GB size limitations on my only Exchange server?

I was reading Exchange 2000 servers have a limit of 96 storage groups but Exchange 2003 enterprise server has a limit of only 4 (see below). Does anyone know what the reason is for the reduction? 2000

I noticed when I restore private information store from backup the size of priv.edb file is much smaller(38 MB) comparing to the same database size when I restore mailboxes(circa 4.5 GB)on the server, although IS contains mailboxes, can someone explain me the difference? I both ...

I need to run eseutil /p on one of the storage group mailbox store but get error -1032 (JETT_errFileAccessDenied). does this mean I need to stop information store service to run eseutil? I do not want to stop it since other storage group are on line and being accessed.

We have exchange 5.5 running windows 2000 server. Do you know approximatelly how long will take for the service to start for a 200 users exchange server, after restoring the info store and directory services from backup and starting exchange services?
