Every couple of days we will notice that emails may not come thru and show up in outlook although we know they were sent and came thru the exchange 2000 server. If I check OWA they are not there either. If I restart the exchange server then they show up after that and may work ...

I've just fixed my Exchange 2000 Mailbox Storage using eseutil and isinteg command. The Mailbox can mount now, but some user get problem with their Mailbox so I decide to create another Mailbox Store and move all User to the new Mailbox Store.
