Is this service necessary? After I have completed configuration of my FE servers the service will no longer start. Everything seems to work fine however. Just curious since I cannot find anything documented about its use on this kind of server.

The SRS is not supported on a cluster...I need to know if I can run it on a Front End Exchange Server. The FE is the only other Exchange Server that I will have. MS article 313646 does not really address the SRS. Thanks.

All, We want to upgrade from 5.5 to exchange 2003. In other words, we want to add a 2003 exchange server to our 5.5 org. Then move all the users and PF over to the new server.
