I am trying to get a plan together for exchange disaster
recovery.  I was hoping I could get some input on how
others are implementing it at other places.  Any offline
backups servers or recovery storage groups, just anything

I am up against the wall as far as our e-mail capacity is concerned.  I can
always buy more disk space, but I can't buy more hours in the day.  Our
backups are taking forever, our restores frequently fail, and if we ever go
down, we're going down hard.

I plan to migrate 2 Exchange 5.5 servers to 2003. I
planned to have an OWA box as a front end server and a
SMTP box for sending messages. Also I will have an ISA
server in the DMZ zone and an IAS server for VPN

Currently my front-end and back end Exch2000 (will migrate to Exch2003) are
"inside" the network.
I would like to follow recommendations and put ISA server and put Exch
front-end "behind" the ISA.

I am thinking of using an external hard drive to backup my company's data.
Its about 40gigabytes worth of data to be back up.
the hard drive will backup the data once a week then be taken offsite for
storage.
