Hi!

If I have System State Backup, is it necessary to backup c$\WINDOWS\ntfrs ?

What kind of problem can occur if this folder is deleted?

Thankyou in advance!

Hello Fabio,

You should not touch that folder, this can occur:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727056.aspx

System state data is comprised of the following files:

. Boot files, including the system files, and all files protected by Windows
File Protection (WFP).
. Active Directory (on a domain controller only).
. Sysvol (on a domain controller only).
. Certificate Services (on certification authority only).
. Cluster database (on a cluster node only).
. The registry.
. Performance counter configuration information.
. Component Services Class registration database

Best regards

Thakyou very much!
That link is very interesting.

I have the question: My backup system is failing on these files into that
folder.
How can I backup that? It's on a DC.

Hello Fabio,

Think you have to use a software that can do an online backup of them.

Ntbackup also with VSS can't do it:

Thankyou again.

But is NTFRS an important folder to backup?
We don't have license for an open file agent.
