Hi,

We're in a relatively new Windows 2003 Server environment w/ WinXP
wrkstations.  We have 1 user (that I'm aware of) that periodically loses her
server connection (mapped drives disconnect).  She's then forced to reboot.
Any ideas?  How can I troubleshoot this?

Thx so much

D

Hello Dana,

Can be NIC driver problem but also DNS which sounds more correct. Make sure
that the NIC configuration uise not any external ip addresses. Do you have
a workgroup or domain setup?

Best regards

Hi Meinolf,
We're in a Domain.  The PCs get their private IPs (192.168.100.x) from the
win2k3 server running DHCP.  PC shows router's private IP as default gw &
win server's private IP as it's DNS.  I assume that's the way it should be?

Thx,
D
