The spooler service stops and displays an application Error. The instruction
at "0x2000457c" referenced memory at "0x0066002c". The memory could not be
"read".
Has anyone come acrossed this issue before?
Any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you.

On your server, right?
Event log errors?
Is the server fully patched? (I don't use W2003 SP2 much yet, but everything
else...)
Usually, this problem is due to a bad print driver.

Any help here? See Problem 5 in

Failing that, have you added or updated any printer-related software or
drivers? Any errors in the event logs?
You could also check the spooler directory for any stray files, although I'm
not sure that would cause what you're seeing here. The directory should be
empty unless there are print jobs queued, and if there are not, you can
safely delete whatever is in there (you may have to stop the Print Spooler
service before it'll let you delete the files). By default, it's
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS.
