I am trying to add 5 more CALs to my SBS2003 Server.  I have gone to Server
management | Licencing | Add Licences and launched the Add License wizard.  I
then get no response from the wizard (i.e I click next, the wizard closes and
I am returend to the manage client access licenses window).

Any ideas?

Go to the SBS To Do list.

I have found the answer- I had got stuck wiht the SP! upgrades having done
the server one but not the SBS one.  There is a workround pending me getting
to grips withe SBS SP1 upgrade issues. Licences now added.

Steve,

May I know how did you fix the issue? I am experiencing the same problem.
The "Add License Wizard" would not run. I got SBS 2003 SP1 installed though.
Please advise me. Thanks.

Hi,
I also had this problem trying to add licenses remotely to a clients
SBS2003 std SP1 server. When I clicked on the 'Next' button on the Add
License Wizard, the dialog simply disappeared. I eventually found it
was caused by DEP blocking the wizard. In System Properties, Advanced,
Performance, Settings, Data Execution Prevention, there was an entry
for Add License Wizard but it was unchecked. When I checked it the
wizard worked properly.
Hope that helps.

i lost a lot of time because i was not seeing the window disappear but
rather was getting an error about
transfer wizard transfer.exe application error, something about memory
written.
I ignored the advice to turn off dep.

Turning off DEP was the fix.

I was debugging over an rdp terminal session, after a while I rebooted the
box,
It was only after the reboot, that I was prompted to turn off DEP because
something had failed.  ALL these error windows came up after logon about my
previous
failed attemtp to run transfer wizard, with the option to turn off DEP.

So, SBS 2003 cannot transfer cals, application error transfer.exe something
about memory written means turn off DEP.  Reboot may be necessary.
