Adding additional DNS Server

Hi,

I current'y have 1 DMS server. I would like to make an additional server a
DNS server for fault tolerance and so that Exchange and name resolution will
still work in the even that I have to reboot the orginal DNS server. Some
background info:

2003 servers, Active Directory Integrated Zone.

How do I create an additional DNS server? Sorry if this sounds like a simple
question. Do I just install DNS on another machine? I do have another DC that
I was thinking of adding DNS to it.

Thanks in advance

Is the additional server going to also be a Domain Controller, or just a DNS
server?
If you have only one Domain Controller, and it goes offline goes offline,
Exchange will too. Regardless of if you have another DNS server or not,
Exchange needs a Domain Controller and Global Catalog server at all times.

yes the server I was thinking of making an additional DNS server is currently
a DC and a GC. Currently when I reboot my DNS server Exchange goes offline
even with this additional server being a DC/GC.

Being that it is a DC, if the zone on the first DC, is AD Integrated, all
you need to do is install DNS, and the zone will replicate to it without any
further action from you.

OK thanks. I'm running the configure my server wizard right now and I
installed DNS but it's asking me what zone to create. However like you said,
it should just replicate to it (since it's a DC and the zone is AD
integrated). What should I answer to the DNS server config Wizard?
