I have an attribute in ADAM which I Mispelled the LDAP name of it. I made it
inactive and tried to add another attribute with a similiar name in the
directory and will not allow me to do so. How can I add this attribute into
the directory with the same name? Please advise....

So it is similar or the same name? What error are you getting?

Hi
make sure that you follow the ADAM specific guidance here:

http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/c4c0b522-424e-4253-9126-3
fbdf460abd51033.mspx

and the generic AD guidance here:

I was able to fix it by going into the Schema configuration partition in ADSI
edit and changed the ldap display name for the attribute. I had the word
"response" misspelled for the attribute and changed it to the correct
spelling. Please advise as to whether this is acceptable or not.

Hi
it seems that change of lDAPDisplayName is allowed for non-Category 1 (base)
schema classes or attributes.
