How do I trace where someone has logged in from? My son's account came online
while I was on Messenger. This wouldn't be a big deal except he was sitting
beside me and we only have 1 pc in the house. He does not have access to MSN
at school and did not give his password to anyone.  I was also logged on for
quite awhile so there was no way for his account to still be running.  Other
than changing the account password which I did when this happened to me
during the summer;  What else can I do?  This is very worrisome for me...

You can't. You can *try* to contact MSN but that's likely to not do you any
good. There's a few things you can do...

Change the account's password to a strong password. Change the information
and security question to something that only he (and you) would know. Check
your PC for malware - there could be information leaking from your PC. If
the problem seems serious enough contact your local authorities.

Is it really that big a deal?  What could someone possibly do with your
son's chat account that would affect you?

I suppose it is possible that this was just a glitch and not an intrusion.

Very possible.

When I'm at work, I frequently see myself log on and off to my home MSN
Messenger account.  Obviously, I'm not logging on - I can't be in two places
at once.

What happens is that my network connection at home goes up and down, and my
machine logs me back on as soon as the network connection comes back up.

Alun.
