hello,

i have a number of clients connecting to a W2k3 TS in application mode using
the web client. is it possible to disable the feature at the top of the
terminal server session that has the _ O X when in full screen mode. users
are using the X to end their ts session and not logging out properly.

thanks

Is there also a newer version of the web client that we should be using to
connect to W2k3 terminal servers. We are currently using 5,1,2600,1095. Does
this mean that my web clients are not using all of the features of RDP 5.2
if they continue to use this version of the web client?

Thanks
Heath Higgins

You can download the newest client (version 5.2.3790) from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e2ff8fb5-
97ff-47bc-bacc-92283b52b310&DisplayLang=en

I don't think that you can easily remove the X from the
PinConnectionBar, but you can autohide it:
Add this registry key on the client machine and the Pin will be
pushed unless you move the mouse to the top of your desktop which
would then show the connection bar.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server
Client\PinConnectionBar - REG_DWORD - 0

Thanks Vera, but the link to the newest client is invalid and I tried the
reg hack and that didn't work eith....the PinConnectionBar is still showing.
Any other idea's? Is it because I'm not using 5.2.3790 of the ActiveX
control?

Thanks
Heath Higgins

The download link works perfectly for me. The URL does wrap around in a
newsreader, though. Did you paste the complete URL into IE? If you
doubleclick on the first line of the URl, it automatically puts
"&DisplayLang=en" at the end. If you then paste the second line after it,
it will not work, you'll have to delete the first "&DisplayLang=en" first

Well I have never tried to change the ActiveX one but I can easily do it on
the Win32 one so I assume I can do on the ActiveX.
This is a service we provide directly on my website. Check it for more
