I have a few Javastations-10 (Krups) lying around my office. I was wondering
if there is anyway to get them working as windows terminals.

I had to google what this was, but foud it pretty easily. Apparently a
Javastation 10 (AKA Krups) is a Sun Network Computer from 1998.  Assuming the
embedded OS is Java Enabled, one could purchase a Java Terminal Server Client
or connect them to a Citrix Presentation Server farm with the Citrix Java
Client (maybe).

They may be paperweights, but I can't say with certainty, as I've never
touched one.

Thank you very much for your reply,
I took your advice and looked for a java client. I found properjavaRDP which
is opensource. I still didn't try it though because I c an't figure a way for
the DHCP server to communicate with these clients. Apparently, Javastations
would not accept any DHCPoffer that doesn't include option 6 and option 40.
Windows 2003 DHCP service is not sending the options during the DHCPOFFER. If
you have any ideas in mind please let me know.

About your other suggestion, we are currently using them as door holders,
but I@m sure that they would make some fine paperweights with an appropriate
firmware upgrade.

regards,,

My hunch is that they're of no use, as they're ~ 9 years old, which is pretty
much the life expectency of thin clients that are made to work with Windows
Terminal Servers.  Put 'em for sale on ebay for $10 each and see if anyone
wants them.  You could also sell the lot for $.01 and just charge for
shipping, in case someone else has a use for these.

What happened to the SUN system that these computers used to connect to?

I have got no clue where the sun servrs are, I started working here about 6
months ago and all the servers I have seen down here so far are windows 2003
servers. When I came over, I found 30 of these machines still boxed with only
one of the boxes open. To tell the truth, they look really cool. I thought I
would try use them to create a training lab if we can, otherwise they are
going to the bin in their sealed boxes :(. Up to this moment, I still can't
figure out a way to send them the correct DHCP offer from windows 2003. once
this step is solved, I would be able to evaluate if they can be of more use
than my fancy paperweight (an ugly piece of Berlin wall)
