Hi Everyone

We do not allow TS users read or write access to c: drive (Thus they are not
able to see or access c: drive), however we would like to make a change to
user MS Word 2003 template file locations from a network drive to local TS
c: drive (For all new user profiles). Does anyone know if this is at all
possible (Provided that users themselves have no access to c: drive). Steps
already tried:

1. Changed Word user template location settings with an account (member of
domain Admins), result = changes made to that profile only (No other
profiles are affected)
2. Examined Default Domain Policy, result = Only changes to startup, files
etc... can be made in Default Domain Policy (GPO), no reference to user
templates.
3. Tried to manually change user template from network drive to c: drive as
a user, result = users can not see c: drive therefore no changes can be made
(Interestingly enough, if default user template settings were left as
default without manual change during and after the installation, user
templates would by default be on c: drive.)

The last resort is to reinstall MS Office completely (During reinstallation
user templates path will be set to default c: drive), but is there anything
else that can be tried before thit happens?

Thank you in advance for your help

You can add a MS Word group policy template to group policy.  This will
expose a bunch of configuration options that allow you to set the template
location, among many other settings.

Go here

Hope that's enough info and it does what you want.  You should also
install the Office adm file (along with the word adm file).  There's
several cool things you can do with workgroup templates in the Office
adm.

Good luck,
Tim
