Can you run the command "tlist -s" and send us the output for all svchost
entries? Also please indicate which svchost is taking all of CPU.

Please also provide the OS version that you are using.

Thanks.
Rajneesh

I have seen this once before.
In that case it was a virus.
svchost.exe should be in our C:\WINDOWS\system32\ folder.
If you check our C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers folder, if there is a
svchost.exe there, then thats the problem.
Delete the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\svchost.exe . If you can?t
delete it form windows you have to
start your computer in DOS-mode (command-promt) and delete it from there.
When you done that you should check your hosts-file
(C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc).
remove everything exept the first line with the loopback-adress (127.0.0.1
LocalHost).

Hope this will help you.

Hi, i happen to experience the same problem

I've checked the folders and the program is in the right place, however it is still taking up all my CPU power. I've got XP Pro and have tried tasklist/svc in the command window. Below is an extraction of the outpu

Image Name                   PID Service

The two that are causing problems are process #724 which controls the remote procedure calls and #1928. I wonder if there is anything i can do about them. Ususally when i get annoyed i just terminate them which leads to JavaScripts not properly executed and no new explorer windows directly opened from internet links. Also any idea why #1496 is not showing anything in the last column? Is is due to a virus

Cheers
