When you TS to the server is like using the server and all its resources so
if you install printer on the server on local port (LPT, COM, USB, TCP,
DOT4) all those printers are accessible by every connected user. The only
problem is if he/she is in Bon and server is in Washington there will be not
much use from the printer. So now it comes new term widely used in TS
domain - redirection.
When you connect from the client that has its own peripherals you want still
use them even when you are in the session on remote server, so your local
printer - installed on your desktop client computer - is redirected to the
server so you can see it inside the session. This redirected printer is only
visible for you and administrator connected to the server.
In TS environment if you want to make printer accessible to many users it is
the easiest way and only possible, because manipulating with security is not
very good implemented forcing you to reenter the setting every time the
printer owner logs off and log on again. (you can always create printer
server and give access to the network printer to selected users - this is
the traditional way). With network printer in TS environment is a little
different story since it is bound to the user account not the computer.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll create local printers on the TS and try the
waters --
