Hi
I'm trying to install WinNT 4.0 Server from CD on a HP
DL380G3 Server. This server has two Xeon 2.4GHz proccessor
and 4 x 1GB DDR memory,
NT setup trying to install on 72GB 15kRPM U320 SCSI disk
(mirror 72GB*2)

NT setup loads the drivers files setup stops and gives a
failure message like this in a BSOD;

***STOP:0X0000003F
(0X00000001,0X00001651,0X000008E7,0X000055F0)
NO_MORE_SYSTEM_PTES
CPUID:GenuineIntel 7.2.9 irql:2 SYSVER 0XF0000565
After this message its impossible to continue to setup
and I have to restart again. And again same problem.
Can anyone help me?

Please specify the SCSI controller card that is being
used, as well as the SCSI BIOS version.

H
Array controller card is HP SmartArray 5i. But I think I found the problem. When I remove all memory (4GB) and add only 512KB x 2 memory, it doesnt give a dump. I knew it doesnt support above 2 GB. But it also doesnt support 2GB memory. Only with the 2 GB memory, it can continue. After installation complete, I'm installing SP6a and shut the server down. And I'm adding 4 GB memory again instead of the 1GB(512KB x 2). It seems that its ok. I'm very bored because of that NT4.0 doesnt support also Service Pack slipstreaming. That's a really nasty problem of NT.
Actually why I'm insisting on NT4.0 is that I'm trying to make homogen system copy (SAP R/3) from an older server hardware platform to the new HP DL380 G3. After that homogen system copy, I plan to upgrade OS to win2k server. But I think it will be harder than the installing of NT4.0 on that new machine. Because, I think it is going to require an Active Directory integration with the SAP R/3. Does anyone have experience on that
Thank you very much xe77.

Hi All,

I have the same experience with DL380G3 with 4Gb memory. With only 2Gb
(4x512mb) and using SmartStart 6.4 setup works fine and after install SP6a
you can reinstall 4Gb that works ok.

But there is 1 more tip: It only work with Smart Array 5i. I have tried to
use Smart Array 6402 and didn´t find drivers to Windows NT 4.0.
