I have got a computer running Windows NT, but there is
nothing on the bottom toolbar to allow me to go straight
to the desktop.  I can't seem to find the little icon that
you get with other Windows (95/98/2000) where you click on
it and you get straight to your desktop so you can choose
one of the icons.  I do not wish to minimize all my
windows before getting to the desktop.  I have tried
searching for Quick Launch and Task Bar on the computer
without success.  Can anyone help?

Thanks

Peep

You need to install the 'Active Desktop Update'.

This procedure work for IE4 through IE6. Just change the name of the
setup program as appropriate:

You can use the keyboard shortcut keys "Windows Key + M"
to minimize all the windows.
Hope this helps.

And Shift - Windows Key - M to restore the minimized windows back to the
their former locations & sizes.
