Trend boot sector virus detection software says I have a
boot sector virus. I am running dual OS with Win 98 on C
drive and win XP Pro on E drive. After initial boot, I
normally get a choice of OS's to boot. Now that I have
received this message, the process gives me now choice, is
having problems accessing high leve memory, and dumps me
with a C drive prompt.
I am using XP setup program to try to access the Recovery
system. When I select R to use it, it loads drivers,
reboots, then dumps me out at the C drive again.
How can I either fix the virus or get around it
temporarily? Using the MS Action Pack of s/w, I had
loaded a large number of MS apps on it, but had many gig
of disk space remaining.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Rick Walker
