I am trying to install SP6 on an NT4  workstation machine
which currently has SP5. When trying this I get an error
message saying that the SP cannot be loaded as it cannot
determine whether the machine is running nt wkstn or nt
server.

any ideas anyone ?

Did you ever find a fix for this, we are experiencing the
same problem.  These servers were already SP6a, last
change about 4 months ago, installed dhcp services,
reinstalled service pack, all went fine.  Tried to
install the latest security patches when the welchia
virus came out, the servers were not infected, and got
the same error.  Tried to reinstall SP6a and got the same
error.  We have 17 services, all set up the same, from
the same cd, of those only 6 are effected this way.
