My hard drive crashed on an old NT box. I replaced the hard drive and
reinstalled NT. However when I try to install the NIC it tells me that the
NIC is not present. I have a link light on the NIC. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated

Hi Patrick,

We'll need a lot more detail to make a sensible comment about your
situation - eg: Brand and Model of NIC, is it PCI, ISA etc ? Is the NIC
PnP or manually configured ? What drivers were being used previously
Microsoft supplied ones or manufacturer drivers ?

Have you consulted the manufacturer web site - this is always my first
port of call with a hardware problem.

Calvin.

do you have at least service pack 3 installed? Latest (SP6a) will be better,
but to install most of NIC you need at least servicepack 3 installed to
allow NT to handle motheboard bridges technology.
