Morning,

since I installed Norton SystemWorks 2006 I have been having a problem with w2k. First, it kept restarting; the 'last good
configuration' helped a bit, but still after turning it on it restarts once before I can work on it, sometimes returning to the
infuriating restart -> restart -> restart... vicious cycle. How to get rid of this problem? It must be somewhere (registry?) I'll be
most grateful for assistance!

Loads of TIA

Is it regular automatic restart after bsod or direct restart? Did you
reapplied latest service pack?

if it is regular restart after blue screen of death, you can turn off
automatic restart, in Control panels, System applet, last tab, System
startup button and there is checkbock to be unchecked. Turning autorestart
off will cause computer hang on BSOD instead of restart, so you can use
information written on BSOD to find more about what is wrong.

if it is direct restart without BSOD, try to invoke startup menu (F8) during
boot and use options here to trace problematic driver.

No BSOD (even though I have the automatic restart option turned off in the system settings). It just loads, you get a glimpse of the
puplit, and then reboots, to load successfully this time...
