I have inherited a new nt 4.0 network with 2 servers. One of the servers I
can connect to over TCP/IP with new xp computers I am installing on the
network. the other server requires netbeui to be installed on the new xp-pcs
to gain access to the shared files. Both servers have have TCP/IP and
netbeui protocols installed. Any ideas?

are you sure TCP/IP is installed correctly on this server? Is there any
firewall or firewall-like software installed on it? Has it any of build-in
TCP/IP filters turned ON?

especially check network mask and route tables, incorrect info in these
often causes really weird network behavior.
