I had the mis-fortune of dealing devices not natively supported by NT 4.
how would one find conflicting resources and free IRQ, memory address to
configure a network device on NT 4 SP4 or 5?
In Winnt or XP, one can look at system info, or sys mgmt device manager. In
NT, I am clueless
First check Event Viewer for any errors, then you can run winmsd to see what
resources are in use and available to use. You'll need to consult the
instructions for your device on how to change it's IRQ. Some possibilities
are jumper, manufacturer supplied device configuration utility, or sometimes
at driver installation. Sometimes it's necessary to change the IRQ for some
other device to free up the one you need.
