Question:
1. How can I transfer the SAM & shares from one NT 4.0 Server to a different
NT 4.0 server hardware, when the new hardware is not on the network?

Note:
My goal is to have the security and shares copied from the old hardware to
the new hardware, but the new hardware is not currently on the network.

Any help would be great!

Thanks

So the simplest solution would be to ghost the disks, I should think.

The hardware of the two systems are no were near alike. I do not have access
to any ghosting software. What I want to accomplish is have the same users
id's share names etc.. on a different system so I can do some testing,
migrating to a Windows 2003 server.

Domain Controller? If so, create a BDC then disconnect it from the PDC and
use server manager to promote it to PDC on the test network.

Other than that, for a migration, If you don't mind my saying so, it might
be worth investing in some kind of cloning software. Its far less expensive
than not being able to do the testing you need.
