Can anyone testify to a UPS/Shutdown Software that works without incident
with Windows 2000 Server and/or Windows 2003 Server?

According to the hardware vendor that services the equipment, "none of them
work without causing problems"

Dell has referred us to an APC that is on the approved list.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this works on servers, but it works on 2k/xp desktops ok.

Just go to Power Options in the controll panel.  Enable hibernation
support.

If your ups is plugged into the computer [serial or usb] it should be
seen as a battery under power options.

Somewhere under power options, there should be "low battery" alarms
that you can set.  Just tell the computer to hibernate when the battery
[the UPS] reaches, say, 50%.

Hope that helps
