I have a recently-installed PC running Windows 2000
Professional SP2. By mistake it was not set up to give
me Administrative privileges. I have to have them. I
did some research on the Internet. I seems that I have
to reinstall it. I have the installation CD. It has
the first version of the OS. I have a number of issues.
Since I don't have Administrator privileges, it would
seem that it wouldn't do me any good to boot up and
insert the installation CD and try to install. (Is this
correct?) Perhaps it might do harm. If this is right,
it would seem that I would have to blow away the current OS
away by reformatting the drive. I could change the boot sequence to boot
first from the CD-ROM drive. Could I boot from
the installation CD? Would the installation program
reformat the drive or would I have to reformat from the
existing setup beforehand? How would I do that?
Assuming I can get the installation going, I would need
to give myself those Administrator privileges. Is the
installation routine clear about doing this or is there
somethings I should know?
This PC has serious deficiencies that I can't do
anything about without Administrator privileges. Can
someone set me on the right path?.

Hmm. There is always one, build-in, administrator account. So log-in as any
user you know, pres CTr-Alt-Del and choose "logoff" (no shutdown or restart,
simply logoff of current user). After this, login form should appear. Fill
here "Administrator" as user name and try either empty password or password
you gave to setup as admin password during installation.
If you do not know correct password, download and use any password hack
utility, the link you got in your previous post is good known and reliable
for this work.
