I am unable install NT 4.0 server on either SCSI or IDE
ATA hard drives. why ?. I tried on Different different
machines.

The mostly likely cause is the drive controller does not have a driver on
the NT4 CD.  Pressing F6 when the NT4 setup is starting will allow you to
specify additional mass storage drivers in the same manner as Windows
2000/2003.  The difference is NT4 does not display a prompt for you to
press F6 like the later versions of Windows.  Make sure you have the
appropriate NT4 drivers on a floppy diskette for this procedure because
floppy diskette is the only source from which Windows Setup will install
additional mass storage drivers.
