There is no 48-bit LBA support in NT4, so for an IDE hard disk the limit
would be 128GB. For SCSI hard disks or disk systems the limit is in the TB
range.

 It depends on the driver. For IDE drives using the native drivers, it'll
probably be 128G since there is no 48-bit LBA support. If you have an add-
on card with it's own BIOS and drivers (such as the Promise ULtra series
or many SCSI controllers) there may be no real limit for today's drives.

 The only real limit is that the boot partition (where \WINNT is) should
stay below the 8G point. You can create a second partition beyond that as
big as the drive and drivers support.

NT4 supports HDD drive sizes in the Exabytes range, however there several
limitations when it comes to the _system_ and _boot_ partitions. As other
replies to your question have also pointed out, there are limitations created by
the IDE LBA (logical block addressing) strategy used by the NT4 ATAPI.sys
driver. This 'LBA limit' creates an artifical maximum disk size of 137GB - third
party drivers and add-on cards can circumvent this limit. The size limit also is
usually not an issue when using SCSI HDDs.
