A friend has Windows 2000NT which seems to have developed a problem
with the winsock driver. He started having a problem with Real
Networks, and their tech support recommended reinstalling the winsock
drivers. Are these available as separate files? What is the easiest
way to repair them?

If a techsupport suggests anything, they should know what to do and explain
how...
Export Winsock and Winsock2 keys from HKLM\System\CCS\Services, uninstall
TCP/IP, delete both keys from the registry, reboot, and reinstall TCP/IP.
