New resolution? What method of name resolution do you use for YOUR network?
WINS, DNS or HOSTS? Computers need a way to resolve friendly names into IP
addresses.
Since you have Win2k and XP you will want a Local Win2k DNS Primary Zone for
Your Network. Not to be confused with Internet DNS.

Or if the machines are in a workgroup environment, add the relevant names
and IP addresses in a hosts or lmhosts file.
