Rebuild DNS Server

Running NT4 SP6a.

Could anyone offer advice as to how to completely rebuild the DNS server.
There's a lot of garbage in ours referring back to prior company domain
names, etc.  I would basically like to strip the whole thing clean and start
anew.  I was wondering if this was possible by just deleting everything
currently defined.  I would prefer not having to uninstall/reinstall DNS
server.

Is there anything I should leave behind if I do go ahaead and delete
records?  For instance, are there any records which are created by default
as part of the installation of DNS server which should not be deleted?

All I want to end up with is our domain name with pointers to our internal
mail server and web server and our external web site.

If the best solution is a complete uninstall/reinstall, are there any
gotchas I should be on the look out for?  And I would reinstall SP6a
afterwards, correct?

Thanks.

All these records are kept in this folder: c:\winnt\system32\dns\. Any zones
configured in DNS ADMIN are named like zone.dns. You could just delete the
zones you do not wish to have or open each zone file and delete the records
you do not want.
You should not have to reinstall DNS to clear records you do not want
anymore.
