I have an issue with my DCHP Server handing out the wrong
dns info when users logon in the morning. I am running
NT4.0 as the dchp & the primary dns. The problem is
happening almost exlusively with xp boxes. but there are
2K boxes having the same problem. As i said before it
happens mainly in the morning when users logon. However
some users have the correct entries in the morning but
then after lunch they have the incorrect dns server
listed. For whatever reason the server showing up as the
primary dns is our mailserver which is a win2k server box
not running dhcp, AD, or dns. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you checked the ipconfig /all for the IP of the DHCP server handing out
these addresses?

So fix your DHCP scopes.

Do an ipconfig /all and look at the DHCP server that handed out the
wrong address for the workstation. Then fix that DHCP server.
