OK running NT 4.0 SP6a with DNS and IIS, most other services disabled.
A few days ago we seem to loose the info for two sub domains. I then
re-entered the info ( just MX records). And today (after a scheduled
reboot/defrag) we have the same problem as before, no info on the sub
domains. So I again re-enter the data to get mail moving again.
This time however after the edits I open the domain.com.dns in a text reader
and the MX records I just entered are not there. They are still showing in
DNS Manager (after refresh and update) and the SOA serial numbers are the
same, so I am reading the same file.
I checked an old domain.com.dns file from months ago that I had saved and it
shows the sub domains MX records, so I am sure I am not just misreading
things.
Can some one suggest why the file is not holding the MX records and/or how
do I fix. I fear the next time the server reboots I will be with out mail to
my sub domains again.
Thanks for your time
