MS Reverse DNS Problem

We had reverse DNS setup and working but a few days ago
it looked as though the reverse DNS file was corrupted.
Could not find any events in event viewer that would
explain it. The file just has garbage in it.

Any way reloaded from backup and now have a very strange
problem.  All the PTR's are there and I can delete the PTR
record and then recreate the A records and the PTR records
are recreated at the same time in the addr-in.arpa zone we
have created.  However, when running the command with
nslookup:

ls -t PTR csrjobs.com (or any other of our domains)

the only thing returned is the name of the DNS server:
[web-dallas] but no requested records

I have obliterated the reverse look up zone and started a
clean new one with one of our domains but still have the
same issue.  Our ISP does not host DNS for us, and I
verifified through dnsstuff.com that the reverse queries
are making to our DNS server.

Anybody seen anything like this?

Thanks

Kevin

All other DNS functions are working normally, the only
anomally is the reverse dns.

That's not returned at all.

K> but no requested records

If there are no "PTR" resource records in the "csrjobs.com." "zone",
then you (obviously) won't be able to retrieve any.  What makes you
think that *that* "zone" has any "PTR" resource records in it in the
first place ?

Because I can see the PTR records in both
DNS managers reverse lookup zone and by opening the .dns
file for the reverse lookup zone.

The records are there but the server still says
no pointer records when doing a reverse lookup query
and its with all tools not just nslookup.

Thanks for your time but I've already brought
up another server that is working, I'll just switch over
to it.

*What* reverse lookup zone? "csrjobs.com." is not a reverse lookup zone.
