Hi, network gurus,
I have a laptop running Windows 2000 professional and when
I work in office, I connect to a domain running Windows NT
4 in our company LAN. While I was working offsite, I used
AOL to get to the Internet, when I exited, asked for
update some features, I let it run. Then I can't join my
laptop to our company domain. It keeps giving me error
of "The domain either doesn't exist or invalid" when I
tried to join the domain from the laptop's "My Computer".
I can PING the Domain server from my laptop by IP address,
but not by name. I've tried to use the NT server "Server
Manager" to add, the laptop name can be added, but it
says "the network path is not found". Could someone shed a
light on how this can be solved? Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I faced similar problem in oneof our branch office. This is being resolved
by making use of WINS name resolution. Try making your client & DC both
point to the WINS infrastructure.
