Quick Question

Hello All:

Have a quick question. In order to have a failover plan should we loose our
main T1, we have a second line that we would like to utilize as a "hotspare"
so to speak. The big issue of course would be DNS changes for WEB and MAIL
services should our primary line go down and we swapped over to the second
line.

Question:

would it be possible, without affecting normal operations to configure 2
entries for web sites. I know with MX records, we could set priority with
the primary T1 set to 10 and secondary T1 set to lets say 50. But with WEB
services, would there be anyway to have a second set of records pointing to
the same site (different ip's)

Thanks

Not really. The only way you could do it would be to set your TTL and
secondary cache times really low, whatever you could tolerate for downtime,
and then change the DNS record after the failure occurs.
