Hi,

I am running awin NT 4.0 sp6 network.  Some of my win
2000, 98 and 95 clients cannot authenticate  (mainly win
9x clients). Have several BDCs on the network which were
rebooted along with the PDC. Also tried releasing and
renewing the lease on one 2000 machine but that did not
work.  I am desperate.  Could you help.  All ideas will
be appreciated.

Hello Cheryl,

In a Windows NT domain, clients use either a WINS Server or broadcast based
name resolution
to be able to find the domain controller for the domain to authenticate when
trying to log on to a domain.

So I would check if the 1C and 1B record exist on your WINS Server or not.

If they do not, then make sure that all your domain controllers are pointing
to the correct WINS Server
and run the following command "nbtstat -RR" to force registration.
