Thank you in advance!!

I currently have a NT 4.0 server running my external
DNS...this server is in the DMZ and not on my local
network(10.0.0.0). However, I bought a new server and
loaded Win200ADV Server on it and I want to use it
instead of the NT 4.0 server. How do I get the DNS
entries from the NT 4.0 box to the new server?

Thank you,
Rob

DNS files in 4.0 and 2000 are text files located in
\winnt\system32\dns with an extension of .dns.

You should be able to copy these files to your new server.

Hi,

I have found the easist way is to create a secondary zone on the new
server, then when a zone transfer has completed stop DNS on the old server,
make the zone on the new server the Primary.

Thanks,
