I'm having issues installing symantec antivirus on my
NT4.0, SP6a server. The windows installer is preventing
application from install. I have done the following:

> Went to v2.0 on the installer
> Replace the dll's and msiexec.exe from a know working
machine.
> Exported the registry keys for windows installer and
importing them in a bad machine.
> Enabled Windows installer logging (Q223300)
> Removed all intances of symantec from the registry

I all I get is unexpected error has occured or when trying
to upgrade the installer or installing symantec

Any ideas?

Never mind got it working
Here is what I did to resolve the issue

The Default Impersonation Level must be set to Identify.
Verify that the DCOM Configuration Properties Defaults
Impersonation Level is set correctly. Users that have
their Default Impersonation Level set to Anonymous
experience this error message. To change the impersonation
level, follow these steps:

Click on the Start button.

Select Run.

Enter DCOMCNFG then click OK.

Select NO for any Warning screens that are presented.

The "Distributed COM Configuration Properties" screen is
displayed.

Select the Default Properties tab.

The "Defaults Impersonation Level" field must be set
to "Identify".

Select Apply then OK.

Once this was done I was able to install without any issues
