i have run into a couple of issues with Windows NT
Workstation 4.0. Operating system wont boot. Getting an
error "Corrupt or missing Fatfile.sys". Also I need help
with NT recognizing my cable modem. Any real help would
be appreciated. I have confirmed via DOS that the
fatfile.sys is in the system32 folder, so its not
missing.I would imagine that there is a way to reinstall
it from the CD ROM maybe through DOS. I am open to
suggestionsand looing fr solutions. Please feel free to
email me if you have any imput or knowledge on either
issue. Thanks

Since it appears that you are using hte FAT file system you
may have a corrupted fatfile.sys.  This is the Windows
kernel driver for the FAT file system and is necessary to
mount your system volume.
You may replace the file, but make sure you are using the
file from the SAME service pack level that you have
installed on the system.
If you are using Service Pack 6a, for example, extract the
Service Pack installation files and copy the fatfile.sys
file from there.  I caution you against simply expanding it
from your installation disc.
