I recently have been having some issues with a few of our NT machines. Upon
startup in the morning (after logging on) a window pops up that says there
is an internal error and recommends closing all programs and restarting.
You can usually just click OK and continue working fine.
However, there is also an issue in IE that seems to coincide...the options
regarding FTP in the Advanced tab of the Internet Options no longer exist
(Enable folder view... and Use Passive FTP...).
This is happening with a few computers running IE 6 SP1 (version
6.0.2800.1106) on NT 4.0 SP6a. It seemed to start after a few Windows
Critical Updates, but I can't link it to any specific update as not all my
NT machines are having this issue.
I have tried reinstalling IE 6 SP1 and repairing the installation. I
reinstalled SP6a for the OS. I reinstalled all the critical updates. No
change.
Please can anyone shed some light on this?

If anyone can help, the exact error that pops up is:
"There was an internal error and one of the windows you were using has been
closed. It is recommended that you save your work and close all programs,
and then restart your computer."
This happens on startup with some NT 4.0 machines; there is generally not
even a program or window open at this time and continuing to use the
computer without restarting seems to have no ill effect.
Anyone else seen this before?
