All,
    I have a WINNT 4.0 Workstation (SP6a) that starts in
Program Manager.  There are no desktop icons or Task bar.
All services are running.  No errors on boot or in the
event logs.  It does not matter who I logon as.  I can run
programs (like Office) from Explorer or the Command
Propmt.  I checked the Registry to make sure that "User
Shell Folders" was set correctly.  Any idea what else I
can check to fix this?  Thanks - Kevin

Check that explorer.exe is the default shell to start. Look at the Reg_Sz
string value of;
"Shell"="Explorer.exe"
found at
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

You can try manually starting the shell Task Manager|File|New Task
%systemroot%\explorer.exe

To check Event Viewer for errors. Try running Task Manager|File|New Task
%systemroot%\system32\eventvwr.exe
