1) Perform and upgrade from Windows NT to Windows 2000
2) Once completed copy the files:
\WINNT\SYSTEM32\Config\SAM to a floppy diskette
3) Install a clean copy of Windows 2000
4) Once compled, boot into the Windows 2000 Recovery
Console and replace the files %SYSTEMROOT%\System32
\CONFIG\SAM with the copy from your floppy diskette.
NOTE: IF YOU ARE USING WINDOWS NT SERVER DO NOT DO THESE
STEPS!
IF YOU NEED TO UPGRADE SERVER USE A SECONDARY (BDC) AND
PERFORM A SYCH AND UPGRADE THE DOMAIN.
Promote the BDC and install Windows 2000 server on the old
server.
