I write regarding Microsoft's XP Network Dial-up.

Six months after installing XP- Shortly after reaching
the internet (via modem)using XP Network Dial-up, the
application fails and shuts down the PC.

The error message is:
"This shutdown was initiated by NT AUTHORITY SYSTEM,
Windows must now restart Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
service terminated".

Grateful for any help on this matter.

The name of the VIRUS is BLASTER...

For startes, update your Virus Scanner (or install one , update it) & scan
your system....clean the system first.
Install the PATCH MS03-026 (download via links in the other reply)!
