Hello, I have given up looking for some way of customizing
my NT 4 Explorer File drop down menu.  I installed
Irfanviewer, and find it is in my Explorer File drop down
menu, in the top of that menu list, and that means that
every time I double click on a file, instead of it opening
with the default extension application, it tries to open
it with Irfanviewer.

Now, I know I should remember how the 'Open with
Irfanviewer' got there in the first place, but, I can't.

And after spending the last 5 hours surfing for a tweak,
etc., which allows me to customize the registry, or ?  has
failed.

Can anybody help me with this?  Thanks!  RJ

It's not about customizing the menu.  It's an option based
on the Registry.  Go to the "Tools" menu, and select
"Folder Options".  Next, go to the "File Types" tab.
You'll find everything you need to know there.  Find the
file extension you are having a problem with, and change
the default program it opens with.
