Hello All;

I know this is a NT group. But maybe someone here may now something.

My father's Laptop running "XP-Home" Sony Viao.
Starts up the computer sometimes and it states.
[ No Operating System Found ]
OK.. He leaves it alone for a few days and uses the other XP-Home Laptop.
And then a few days later, he is able to use the laptop again.

But what could be causing this issue?

Any information on this would be great.
We are trying to figure it out before my Dad ships it over to me.
{ He is in Georgia, In in N.C. ) So we are trying to fix before
I have to run techs on it.

Thank you all

I have run across this several times and in most cases the
hard drive ends up being bad.  I would get the ALL of the
data you want off that hard drive ASAP.   Also I have seen
the BIOS/CMOS go bad it can cause the same error.

Good Luck

I will let my father know about this, We have already figured that the
Hard Drive was bad, but the BIOS did not dawn on me.
Thank you once again.
